From November 9 to November 11, 2017, the World Organic Congress (OWC) and the BioFach India exhibition took place in Delhi, India.
The Congress consisted of two parallel events – discussion of organic farming problems from the scientific point of view, IFOAM Congress and BIOFACH India exhibition – an exhibition of Indian companies and government agencies related to organic farming.
The exhibition area of 4000 m2 gathered 184 exhibitors. More than 9000 people visited the exhibition, and more than 2500 took part in IFOAM Congress. Such a high level of attendance always highlights exhibitions held in India from the analogue events in other parts of the world.
BIOFACH INDIA has become an ideal platform for communication of all those who are involved in organic farming, wholesale and retail companies, exporters, importers and representatives of government agencies.
The main event taking place in parallel with the exhibition was IFOAM conference dedicated specifically to the issues of organic agriculture. Its slogan: "Organic world – organic India".
This congress takes place every 3 years in different countries. The Organic World Congress plays a key role in strengthening global organic farming and directing government policies towards organic agriculture.
The main attention was focused on the need for transition to organic technologies. According to the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi "This event helped to combine the experience and knowledge of the leaders of organic agriculture. The transition to organic technologies is an integral part of sustainable world development".
Participation in such events is one of the main strategic steps of Life Force, because it gives an exceptional opportunity to interact with experts, organizations and associations involved in promoting the ideas of organic agriculture in the world.
