Fluid loss reducing agent
Gilsonite LF is a high softening point agent used to effectively control fluid loss in oil-based drilling fluid systems.
The use of this agent positively impacts the temperature stability of solutions (up to 185 °C) and their rheological properties.
The agent is particularly recommended for use in weighted drilling muds where the increase in viscosity often seen with other fluid loss agents is undesirable.
