Sodium lignite-alkaline agent (Sodium Humate)

Drilling agent for filtration and fluid-loss control, stabilization of water-based and oil-based drilling fluids
Sodium humate is a drilling agent based on humic acids from lignite neutralized with sodium hydroxide.

It is well dispersed in water with formation of colloidal solutions. Designed for general improvement of the quality, structural and mechanical properties of drilling fluids, increasing their dispersion and aggressive stability, and decreasing the filtration rate.

Serves to regulate the viscosity and static shear strength of muds thickened by cuttings, in order to facilitate drilling conditions and increase the efficiency of oil and gas production processes.

Fields of application
  • Stabilization of rheological properties of drilling fluids.

    • Ensuring the stability of the wellbore.

    • Improvement of drilling fluids quality, including the reduction of filter loss and viscosity.
      • Fluid-loss decrease at high temperatures and pressures.

        • Improving the quality of the mud cake.

        • Increase of the efficiency of systems and fluids when drilling unstable clays.
              Benefits
              • Environmentally friendly.

              • Effective at low concentrations.

              • Acts as a thinner for clay drilling fluids.

              • Compatible with all reagents used in the practice of chemical treatment of drilling fluids.
              • Can be used in any type of water-based and oil-based mud.

              • Protects borehole walls from destruction.

              • Reduces the static shear strenght of the mud.

              • Allows to improve the inhibiting properties of solutions.
                    Rates and recommendations
Add to all types of drilling fluids either in dry form (directly adding to the solution) or with preliminary hydration of biopolymer in water.
The dosage is adjusted depending on the desired drilling speed, degree of filtration control and fluid loss: 2-25 kg/m3.
